About this Project
This project required preparation of a parcel of 5 hectares of land for a new housing development. The site formerly contained rail tracks, a buried creek, and a capped landfill.
Remediation Process
A slide rail shoring system was installed for a straight wall excavation down to depths of 7 metres along property boundaries, in preparation for a municipal roadway. Nexxgen’s mobile ECA was utilized to screen and separate debris, allowing the re-use of material on site, and facilitating the reduction of disposal fees. Nexxgen ECAs were also used to construct an on-site storage pond and a customized groundwater treatment system. Over 2 million litres of water and 80,000m3 of material were handled on site by various remediation and separation methods.
The Outcome
The site was remediated, cut, filled, and compacted to reduce grades, paving the way for the housing development.
